Codes of good walking exist in many countries. It is neither possible nor desirable to try to harmonise these codes. They have developed over long periods of history and are often based on experience and practice.
The Foundation supports the objectives of the European Ramblers’ Association. In particular:
creation and maintenance of trans-frontier paths / aid the protection of the countryside and the environment / protection and maintenance of the European cultural heritage / greater understanding between the peoples and nations of Europe.....
